38.1c Definitions; D. Sec. 1c. (1) 'Deferred member' means a member who is separated from state service for a reason other than retirement or death and who has satisfied the requirements of section 20(4) or (5) for a deferred retirement allowance. (2) 'Designated temporary layoff' means the layoff of a member that does not exceed 1 month and has a fixed, predetermined, and announced recall date. (3) 'Direct rollover' means a payment by the retirement system to the eligible retirement plan specified by the distributee. (4) 'Distributee' includes a member or deferred member. Distributee also includes the member's or deferred member's surviving spouse or the member's or deferred member's spouse or former spouse under an eligible domestic relations order, with regard to the interest of the spouse or former spouse.
