500.2237 Policy issued under chapter 34; prohibited restriction of liability.Sec. 2237. An insurer shall not deliver in this state an insurance policy issued under chapter 34, or issue the policy for delivery in this state, if the policy contains a provision that restricts the liability of the insurer to pay expenses because the expenses are incurred while the insured is in a hospital, institution, or other facility operated by this state or a political subdivision of this state if the insured would be legally required to pay the expenses in the absence of insurance.
