51.261 Chief deputy sheriff in counties of 150,000 to 300,000; appointment, tenure. Sec. 1. The sheriff of any county, having a population of not less than 150,000 and not more than 300,000, is hereby authorized and empowered to appoint a chief deputy sheriff for said county, and may revoke such appointment at pleasure.
