§ 560.196

560.196 Subdivision names; consecutive numbering of additions. Sec. 196. The following shall apply to all subdivisions as a condition of approval: (a) The name of a subdivision as included in the caption of the plat shall not use the name of a previously recorded subdivision within the same county unless it is an addition thereto. (b) The first subdivision bearing the name may be numbered 1 and all additions shall be numbered consecutively beginning with number 2. (c) A plat duplicating the name of any existing subdivision within the same county shall be rejected by the governing body or county plat board. (d) The governing body or county plat board may also reject plats submitted with subdivision names so closely approximating previously recorded plats that such use might easily lead to misunderstanding or confusion for purposes such as assessment and description of land.
