570.1112 Endorsing and indexing instrument by register of deeds; recording fee; constructive notice.Sec. 112. (1) If a notice of professional services contract, notice of professional services subcontract, notice of commencement, claim of lien, certificate of discharge of lien, or a certificate of a county clerk that no proceedings to enforce a construction lien have been commenced within the period provided by law is recorded in the office of a register of deeds, the register shall endorse on the instrument the date of its recording and properly index the instrument. (2) The fee for recording an instrument described in subsection (1) is the same as the fee for recording a real estate mortgage under section 2567 of the revised judicature act of 1961, 1961 PA 236, MCL 600.2567. (3) The recording of a notice of professional services contract, notice of professional services subcontract, notice of commencement, or claim of lien operates as constructive notice to subsequent purchasers or encumbrancers in the same manner as the recording of a real estate mortgage.
