600.1855 Service of process; public bodies, duties of officers. Sec. 1855. Service of process on municipal and public corporations and other public bodies shall be made as prescribed by rule of the supreme court. The officer upon whom such service is made shall inform the public body of such service at or before its next meeting. The council, board, commission, corporation, or other public body may appear and answer or plead in such proceedings in such manner as it may direct. History: 1961, Act 236, Eff. Jan. 1, 1963
