600.4322 Habeas corpus; 'prisoner' defined. Sec. 4322. The term 'prisoner', as used in connection with habeas corpus, means the person on whose behalf the writ is issued, such as an inmate of a penal or mental institution, the child whose custody is sought, and other persons alleged to be restrained of their liberty.
