600.6044 Execution; surplus; disposition. Sec. 6044. If, after any sale made as herein prescribed there remains in the hands of the officer any surplus money after satisfying the writ or writs of execution on which such property was sold, with the interest thereon, the officer shall pay over such surplus to the judgment debtor or his legal representatives on demand.
