600.6047 Payment by debtor of judgment debtor. Sec. 6047. After issuing execution to collect a judgment, any person indebted to the judgment debtor may pay to the officer having the execution the amount of his debt, or so much thereof as is necessary to satisfy the execution, and the receipt of the officer having such execution is a discharge of the indebtedness of such person to the judgment debtor to the extent of the amount so paid.
