600.8503 District court of first or second class; clerk or deputy clerk as magistrate. Sec. 8503. Subject to the provisions of section 8501, the judges of the district court within a district of the first or second class may appoint a clerk or deputy clerk as a magistrate to perform the duties and exercise the powers of a magistrate in addition to the duties as a clerk or deputy clerk of the district court.
