62.3 Appointments; time. Sec. 3. Except for an appointment to fill a vacancy or unless a different time is prescribed in the ordinance or resolution creating the office, an appointment to a village office shall be made at the first village council meeting after the qualification of a council member who is elected at the village's regular election. If, for any cause, an appointment is not made at that meeting or on the day prescribed in the ordinance or resolution creating the office, the appointment may be made at a subsequent regular or special meeting of the council.
