67.24 Sewers, drains, watercourses; construction; condemnation. Sec. 24. The council of any village may establish, construct, and maintain sewers, drains, and watercourses whenever and wherever necessary. These improvements shall be of such dimensions and materials, and under such regulations as the council considers proper for the drainage of the village. Private property may be taken therefor in the manner provided by this act for taking private property for public use. But in all cases where the council shall consider it practicable, such sewer, drain, and watercourses shall be constructed in the public streets and grounds. History: 1895, Act 3, Imd. Eff.
