72.1 Authorized village lighting. Sec. 1. A village may purchase or construct, and operate and maintain either independently or in connection with the water works of the village, either within or without the village, works to supply the village with gas, electric, or other lights, at such times and on such terms and conditions as directed by the council under this chapter.
