765.3 Judges empowered to permit committed prisoners to post bail; notice to prosecuting attorney; inquiry. Sec. 3. A judge of the circuit court, the recorder's court of the city of Detroit, the traffic and ordinance division of the recorder's court of the city of Detroit, the district court, or a municipal court, on application of a prisoner committed for a bailable offense, and after due notice to the prosecuting attorney for the county, may inquire into the case and permit the prisoner to post bail. Any person committed for not finding sureties to recognize for him or her also may be permitted to post bail by any of the judges listed in this section. History: 1927, Act 175, Eff.
