122A.29 TEACHERS OF BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED STUDENTS; LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS. Teachers licensed in the education of blind and visually impaired students must demonstrate competence in reading and writing Braille. The Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board, at such time as a valid and reliable test is available, shall adopt a rule to assess these competencies that is consistent with the standards of the National Library Services for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.
