138.01 MINNESOTA HISTORICAL SOCIETY; FINANCES. Subdivision 1. Appropriations subject to charter. All appropriations made to the Minnesota Historical Society shall be subject to the charter of the Minnesota Historical Society of 1849 and as amended in 1856. Subd. 2. Salary, expenses. From appropriations made to the Minnesota Historical Society, employees, with the exception of the director, shall be paid a salary comparable to the salaries paid to state employees in the classified state civil service. Money necessary to meet expenses shall be paid to the society upon certification by the director of the Minnesota Historical Society of the amount to the commissioner of management and budget. Subd. 3. Expenditures. Money appropriated to the Minnesota Historical Society shall be expended in the manner and under the terms and conditions described by the governing body of the Minnesota Historical Society. Subd. 4. Insurance. The Minnesota Historical Society may use state money to buy fire, wind, hail, and vandalism insurance. Subd. 5. Biennial appropriations. The Minnesota Historical Society shall receive specific appropriations each biennium to carry out the purposes of subdivision 2.
