18C.231 ADULTERATION. Subdivision 1. Sale and distribution prohibited. A person may not sell or distribute an adulterated fertilizer, soil amendment, or plant amendment product. Subd. 2. Factors causing adulteration. A fertilizer, soil amendment, or plant amendment is adulterated if: (1) it contains a deleterious or harmful ingredient in an amount to render it injurious to plant life if applied in accordance with directions for use on the label; (2) the composition falls below or differs from that which the product is purported to possess by its labeling; or (3) the product contains unwanted crop seed or weed seed. Subd. 3. Certain adulterated products must be disposed. Adulterated products that cannot be reconditioned must be disposed of according to methods approved by the commissioner.
