216.18 POWER TO SUBPOENA WITNESSES AND DOCUMENTS. The commission in any hearing or investigation may require the attendance of witnesses and the production of any books, documents, and records. Witnesses must receive the same fees and mileage as in civil actions. Disobedience of any subpoena in such proceeding or contumacy of a witness may, upon application of the commission, be punished by any district court in the same manner as if the proceedings were pending in such court.
