219.44 CHARTER POWERS NOT ABRIDGED. Nothing in sections 219.39 to 219.44 repeals, abridges, modifies, or affects the power contained in the charter of a city to require railroads to maintain gates, flaggers, or safety devices at public highway crossings in that city, or any ordinance enacted pursuant to that power.
