299D.07 HELICOPTER, FIXED WING AIRCRAFT. The commissioner of public safety is hereby authorized to retain, acquire, maintain and operate helicopters and fixed wing aircraft for the purposes of the State Patrol and the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and for any other law enforcement purpose that the commissioner determines is appropriate.
