3A.10 SERVICE CREDIT. Subdivision 1. Service credit for legislative term. (a) In the case of a member of the house of representatives, one full term of office must be considered two full years of service, notwithstanding the fact that the oath of office was taken on different days each biennium. (b) In the case of a member of the senate, one full term of office must be considered four full years of service, notwithstanding the fact that the oath of office was taken on different days at the start of each term. (c) For purposes of this chapter, a legislative term must be deemed to commence on January 1 and to end on December 31. Subd. 2.
