341.221 ADVISORY COUNCIL. (a) The commissioner must appoint a Combative Sports Advisory Council to advise the commissioner on the administration of duties under this chapter. (b) The council shall have five members appointed by the commissioner. All five members must have knowledge of combative sports. The commissioner shall make serious efforts to appoint qualified women to serve on the council. (c) The council shall annually elect from its membership a chair. (d) Meetings shall be convened by the commissioner, or by the chair with the approval of the commissioner. (e) Appointments to the council and the terms of council members are governed by sections 15.059 and 15.0597. (f) Removal of members, filling of vacancies, and compensation of members shall be as provided in section 15.059. (g) Meetings convened for the purpose of advising the commissioner on issues related to a challenge filed under section 341.345 are exempt from the open meeting requirements of chapter 13D.
