357.23 WITNESS FEES OF OFFICERS OF MUNICIPALITIES. No officer or employee of any city or county in this state shall receive or be paid any sum as witness fees in any case in which the state of Minnesota, the county, or the city, of which the witness is an officer or employee, is a party, if the case be tried in the witness's city of residence.
