386.19 RECORD BOOKS, INDEXES. The county recorder shall keep suitable word for word records by either manual or electronic means of all instruments delivered to the recorder for record keeping. The recorder shall keep an alphabetical index either by manual or electronic means, to record, under the proper letter of the alphabet, the name of each grantor and grantee of any instrument delivered for recording.
