388.25 TRAINING ABOUT SEX OFFENDER SENTENCING. The County Attorneys Association, in conjunction with the attorney general's office and the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, shall conduct an annual training course for prosecutors, public defenders, and peace officers on the specific sentencing statutes and Sentencing Guidelines applicable to persons convicted of sex offenses and crimes that are sexually motivated. The training shall focus on the sentencing provisions applicable to repeat sex offenders and patterned sex offenders. The course may be combined with other training conducted by the County Attorneys Association or other groups. History: 1995 c 226 art 2 s 5
