469.123 EXAMINATION AND AUDIT OF LOCAL AGENCY. The accounts, books, and records of any local or area agency, including its receipts, disbursements, contracts, mortgages, investments, and other matters relating to its finances, operation, and affairs shall be examined and audited from time to time by the state auditor as provided by law.
