508.56 ASSIGNMENT AND DISCHARGE OF MORTGAGE. When a mortgage is assigned, extended, or otherwise dealt with, a memorial of the instrument shall be made upon the certificate of title. In case only a part of the mortgage upon the land is intended to be released or discharged a memorial of such partial release shall be entered.
