60A.176 DEFINITIONS. Subdivision 1. Application. The definitions in this section apply to this section and section 60A.177. Subd. 2. [Repealed, 1991 c 207 s 8] Subd. 3. Agent. 'Agent' means an agent who is not an employee of the insurer, who has an agency contractual relationship that has been in effect for five or more years, and who writes 80 percent or more of the agent's business through one insurer or its subsidiaries. Subd. 4. Insurer. 'Insurer' means an insurance company writing property or casualty loss insurance in this state through agents. History: 1990 c 457 s 1; 1991 c 207 s 1
