629.402 ARREST WITHOUT AUTHORITY. It is a gross misdemeanor for a public officer, or one pretending to be a public officer, knowingly and under the pretense or color of any process (1) to arrest a person or detain a person against the person's will, (2) to seize or levy upon any property, or (3) to dispossess any one of lands or tenements, without a regular process for those actions.
