86B.125 LEASED WATERCRAFT. Subdivision 1. Safety standards. The commissioner shall prescribe safety standards for watercraft offered for lease, rent, or hire. Subd. 2. Suspending or revoking license. (a) The commissioner may suspend or revoke the license of a watercraft offered for rent, lease, or hire: (1) that does not comply with the safety standards for the watercraft; and (2) for which the watercraft owner fails to keep a record of the name and address of the person renting, leasing, or hiring the watercraft, the license number of the watercraft, the date and time the person takes possession, and the expected time of return of the watercraft. (b) The record of renting, leasing, or hiring must be preserved for at least six months. History: 1990 c 391 art 9 s 8
