Section 13-1-313 - Affirmation of true interpretation

Before participating in any proceedings subsequent to an appointment under the provisions of Sections 13-1-301 through 13-1-315, an interpreter shall make an oath or affirmation that he will make a true interpretation in an understandable manner to the person for whom he is appointed and that he will repeat the statements of such persons in the English language to the best of his skill and judgment. The appointing authority shall provide recess periods as necessary for the interpreter when the interpreter so indicates.Laws, 1984, ch. 414, § 7, eff. 7/1/1984.
