Section 13-5-61 - Grand jury not to disclose secrets of jury-room

A grand juror, except when called as a witness in court, shall not disclose any proceeding or action had by the grand jury in relation to offenses brought before it, within six (6) months after final adjournment of the grand jury upon which he served, nor shall any grand juror disclose the name or testimony of any witness who has been before the grand jury on pain of fine or imprisonment for contempt of court.Codes, 1857, ch. 64, art. 252; 1871, § 2846; 1880, § 1676; 1892, § 2381; 1906, § 2710; Hemingway's 1917, § 2203; 1930, § 2056; 1942, § 1790; Laws, 1983, ch. 499, § 22, eff. 7/1/1983.
