Clarke County is bounded by beginning on the Choctaw boundary line, where the range line between ranges thirteen and fourteen, east, of the Choctaw meridian extended strikes the same; thence eastwardly with said Choctaw boundary line to the northwest corner of the Hiawanee reserve; thence direct to the northeast corner of said Hiawanee reserve; thence along the said Choctaw boundary line to the Alabama state line; thence nearly due north along said state line to the point where the township line between townships four and five strikes the same; thence west along said township line to the northwest corner of township four, range fourteen, east; thence due south along the range line to the point of beginning.
