Attala County is bounded by beginning at the point on Big Black River where the line between townships sixteen and seventeen crosses the same; thence east with said township line to the line between ranges nine and ten, east; thence south to the line between townships twelve and thirteen, being the northeast corner of Leake County; thence west with the line between townships twelve and thirteen to the line between ranges five and six, east; thence south with said range line to the center of township twelve, range five, east; thence due west with sectional lines to the Choctaw boundary; thence southerly on said boundary line one mile; thence west on section lines to Big Black River; thence up said river, with its meanderings, to the beginning.
