Section 21-19-17 - Restricting movements of individuals where public safety is endangered

The governing authorities of municipalities shall have the power to make regulations to protect property, health and lives and to enhance the general welfare of the community by restricting the movements of the citizens, or any group thereof, of such municipalities when there is eminent danger to the public safety because of freedom of movement thereof.Codes, 1892, § 2950; 1906, § 3341; Hemingway's 1917, § 5838; 1930, § 2417; 1942 § 3374-132; Laws, 1950, ch. 491, § 132; Laws, 1964, ch. 496, §§ 1-4, eff. 3/11/1964.
