The governing authorities of any municipality, in their discretion, may grade, gravel, shell, overlay, repair and maintain gravel, shell, asphalt or concrete roads, driveways and parking lots and grounds of public schools located within the corporate boundaries of the municipality. Before engaging in such work, the governing authorities shall spread upon their minutes, the written request of the school board for the work, the written approval of the governing authorities for the work and the specific location of the road, driveway, parking lot or school grounds to be worked.Laws, 1996, ch. 310, § 1, eff. 7/1/1996.
