Section 25-9-123 - Nonstate service; exclusion of positions covered by prior systems

The nonstate service, as defined by Section 25-9-107, shall consist of all positions in the departments, agencies and institutions of state government not included in the state service under this chapter and shall not be subject to the rules and regulations of the state personnel system. No position existing on February 1, 1981, which is covered by the Mississippi Coordinated Merit System Council shall be excluded from the state service, unless such position is specifically excluded by this chapter.Laws, 1980, ch. 303, § 8(2), eff. 2/1/1981.
