A state service employee, with the consent of the head of the department, agency or institution and the concurrence of the state personnel director, may be placed on a leave of absence for purposes of accepting an assignment in the nonstate service for a period not to exceed one (1) year, subject to rules adopted by the board.Laws, 1980, ch. 303, § 8(3), eff. 2/1/1981.
