(1)(a) Except as provided in paragraph (b), an employee of any state agency, department, board, commission, institution or other instrumentality of the state may not operate a state-owned motor vehicle unless such person has a valid Mississippi driver's license or a valid driver's license from a contiguous state.(b) A person may operate a motor vehicle owned by a state institution of higher learning if they have a valid Mississippi driver's license of the appropriate classification or a valid driver's license of the appropriate classification from any state.(2) A violation of subsection (1) of this section constitutes good cause for dismissal from employment.Laws, 1994, ch. 523, § 1; Laws, 2001, ch. 345, § 1, eff. 3/11/2001.Amended by Laws, 2015, ch. 342, HB 1028, 1, eff. 3/13/2015.
