The tax collector shall mail to each privilege taxpayer holding a license, on or before the first day of the month prior to the month in which his privilege license will expire, a notice that the license will expire and that a new privilege license must be procured during the following month, and shall enclose therewith an application blank for a new license; but the failure to send or receive such notice shall not exempt such privilege taxpayer from any penalties prescribed by law.Codes, 1942, § 9696-212; Laws, 1944, ch. 137, § 208; Laws, 1962, ch. 588, § 23; Laws, 1978, ch. 383, § 1; Laws, 1988, ch. 505, § 7, eff. 7/1/1988.
