Section 27-59-49 - Apportionment of proceeds of tax

(1) Except as provided in subsection (2) of this section, all proceeds of the tax collected under the provisions of this chapter shall be paid and apportioned by the commission in the same manner as payments on gasoline are made in accordance with Section 27-5-101, Mississippi Code of 1972.(2) The proceeds of the One-fourth Cent (1/4¢) per gallon tax imposed in subsection (1) of Section 27-59-11, Mississippi Code of 1972, shall be deposited by the commission into a special fund hereby established in the State Treasury and shall be expended, pursuant to appropriation by the Legislature, to defray the expenses of the State Fire Marshal in the administration of the Liquefied Compressed Gas Equipment Inspection Law.Codes, 1942, § 10079-25; Laws, 1969 Ex Sess, ch. 55, § 25; Laws, 1987, ch. 322, § 17; Laws, 1987, ch. 422, § 54, eff. 1/1/1988.
