(1) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (2) of this section, the proceeds of the tax levied in this article shall be deposited by the commission into the State Treasury to the credit of the General Fund, and such proceeds are hereby designated as public funds of the State of Mississippi and shall be by it deposited in accordance with Section 27-3-57, Mississippi Code of 1972.(2) The proceeds of the tax on locomotive fuel shall be deposited by the commission into the Railroad Revitalization Fund established in Section 57-43-1, Mississippi Code of 1972.Laws, 1989, ch. 462, § 11; Laws, 1991, ch. 484, § 1.
