Section 29-1-79 - How purchase money paid

The Secretary of State shall receive the purchase money of lands, which purchase money shall be paid into the Treasury. In the event a patent has not been finally completed within thirty (30) days after purchase money has been paid to the Secretary of State, then, upon written request to the Secretary of State by the party making the application to purchase state land, there shall be refunded all money, less fees provided under this chapter, paid upon the application to purchase state land. The Secretary of State shall issue a warrant upon the State Treasurer for the sum of money to be refunded; the warrant shall be paid as all other warrants are paid.
