The Governor shall appoint, designate or detail, on the recommendation of the Adjutant General, subject to the approval of the Secretary of the Army and the Secretary of the Air Force, a federally recognized field grade officer of the Mississippi National Guard who shall be designated as the United States property and fiscal officer for the state. Before entering upon the performance of his duties as property and fiscal officer he shall be required to give good and sufficient bond to the United States, as required by federal statutes, for the faithful performance of his duties and for the safekeeping and proper disposition of the federal funds and property entrusted to his care.Codes, 1942, § 8519-93; Laws, 1966, ch. 539, § 63, eff. 6/1/1966.
