Section 41-41-39 - Violation of provisions as misdemeanor

Anyone who purposefully, knowingly or recklessly performs or attempts to perform or induce an abortion without complying with Sections 41-41-31 through 41-41-37 shall, upon conviction, be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00), by imprisonment in the county jail for a period of time not to exceed six (6) months or both such fine and imprisonment.Laws, 1991, ch. 439, § 5, eff. 7/1/1991 (Governor's veto overridden by the Legislature on 3/28/1991).
