Section 45-23-51 - Violations; penalties

After twelve (12) months following the date of issuance of the rules and regulations by the board, it shall be unlawful for any person, firm, partnership or corporation to operate in this state or its territories a boiler or pressure vessel, except a boiler and/or pressure vessel covered by owner or user inspection service as provided for in Sections 45-23-43 and 45-23-45, without a valid inspection certificate. The operation of a boiler or pressure vessel without such inspection certificate, or at a pressure exceeding that specified in such inspection certificate, shall constitute a misdemeanor on the part of the owner, user or operator thereof and shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or imprisonment not to exceed six (6) months, or both. Each day of such unlawful operation shall be deemed a separate offense.Laws, 1974, ch. 500, § 17, eff. 4/2/1974.
