Section 45-3-45 - Training school for patrolmen

The commissioner is hereby authorized to set up a training school for patrolmen. He shall prescribe the rules and regulations for the operation of same and the period of training to be required of appointees to the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol. The period of training for recruits shall not be less than eighty (80) days; however, prior sworn law enforcement officers who have at least two (2) years of law enforcement experience may have a period of additional training that is less than eighty (80) days.
