Mississippi Legal Code
(1) The department may adopt such rules as may be necessary to govern the use of inmates by the corporation; however, such rules shall be related only to the need for security, inmate protections, and efficient operation of each institution.(2) The corporation, with the input of the department, shall establish policies and procedures subject to the approval of the department's legal counsel relating to the use of inmates in the correctional work programs.(3) All such policies and procedures adopted by the department and the corporation shall be placed on file in the office of the Secretary of State.Laws, 1990, ch. 534, § 17; reenacted without change, Laws, 1996, ch. 547, § 26, eff. 4/13/1996.Brought forward by Laws, 2024, ch. 464, SB 2445,§ 20, eff. 7/1/2024.
