The Commissioner of Corrections, with the concurrence of the Governor, is hereby authorized to enter into agreements with appropriate federal agencies to provide housing and incarceration of persons convicted by the courts of Mississippi and sentenced to the Mississippi Department of Corrections by such courts under such terms and conditions as may be prescribed if a determination is made that the best interest of the State of Mississippi would be served by making such transfer.Laws, 1983, ch. 412; brought forward, Laws, 1984, ch. 471, § 74; reenacted, Laws, 1986, ch. 413, § 74; Laws, 1988, ch. 504, § 28, eff. 5/6/1988.
