Section 47-5-178 - Provision of hospice care services to terminally ill inmates authorized

The Department of Corrections is authorized to provide for hospice care services for inmates who are confined in facilities under the jurisdiction of the department and who are terminally ill as defined in Section 41-85-3. The department may have those hospice care services provided by properly qualified employees of the department or may contract for the providing of the hospice care services. If the department provides the hospice care services with department employees, the department is not required to have a license under the Mississippi Hospice Law.Added by Laws, 2022, ch. 496, HB 936,§ 1, eff. 7/1/2022.
